Windermere Real Estate locations across Central Oregon are pitching in to help young students get ready for the upcoming school year. Through the end of August, the company's offices in Redmond and Bend will serve as drop-off points for essential classroom items, supporting a regional effort tied to Schoolhouse Supplies and KGW.

This is the first time Windermere has joined this particular initiative in the area, and the response so far has been steady. Organizers say the need is especially high this year, as many families continue to feel the pinch of rising costs for everyday items like notebooks, pencils, and backpacks. The goal is simple: make sure kids walk into their classrooms on the first day with the tools they need to succeed.

Community members can stop by either participating office during normal business hours to donate new, unopened supplies. Items most in demand include wide-ruled paper, glue sticks, crayons, child-safe scissors, and sturdy backpacks. Cash donations are also being accepted for those who prefer to contribute that way.

The drive runs through August 31, and all collected materials will be distributed to schools serving students in need. Windermere agents and staff are volunteering their time to sort and package the donations before they head out to classrooms.
