A new independent brokerage is set to open its doors in East Nashville this fall, and its founder says the focus will be on storytelling, not just transactions. Jacob Jones will launch Studio Real Estate on October 1, with a founding team of agents who come from backgrounds that are far from the typical real estate mold.
Jones, who has spent years in the local housing market, describes the new firm as "media-first." That means the brokerage will lean heavily on video, photography, and digital content to market homes and build a brand around the neighborhoods it serves. The approach is a deliberate shift away from the traditional listing-and-showing model, aiming instead to create a narrative around each property and the community itself.
The founding agents at Studio Real Estate include former journalists, documentary filmmakers, and musicians, a mix that Jones believes gives the team a unique edge in connecting with buyers and sellers. "The flag we're flying is East Nashville," Jones said in a statement, emphasizing that the company's identity is tied to the area's creative energy and independent spirit, not to a national franchise.
The brokerage will operate out of a storefront space in the Five Points area, a hub known for its local shops and music venues. Jones says the office will double as a content studio, where agents can produce listing tours and neighborhood guides. While the launch is small, the goal is to grow slowly and deliberately, focusing on a handful of listings at a time rather than volume.
For now, Studio Real Estate is positioning itself as a boutique option for sellers who want more than a yard sign. The October opening will include a public event for neighbors and potential clients, with plans to showcase the studio space and introduce the team. Jones says he is not trying to compete with the big agencies on volume, but rather to carve out a niche that values craft and local knowledge above all else.
