RALEIGH - Kane Realty, the developer behind major Triangle projects like North Hills and Smoky Hollow, is planning to bring nearly 500 new homes to Cary. The company has submitted proposals for multiple residential developments in the town, with construction targeted to begin next year.
The plans include a mix of townhomes, apartments, and single-family homes spread across several sites in Cary. Kane Realty has not yet released exact locations for all the projects, but the company confirmed the total could reach around 500 units. The developer is known for large-scale, mixed-use communities that blend housing with retail and office space.
Despite the ambitious timeline, each project still requires approval from the Cary Town Council. The council will review zoning requests, site plans, and environmental impact studies before giving the green light. Kane Realty officials said they are working closely with town staff to address any concerns about traffic, infrastructure, and school capacity.
Cary has seen steady population growth in recent years, and demand for housing remains high. However, some residents have voiced worries about overdevelopment and strain on local roads. Kane Realty has pledged to include green spaces and pedestrian-friendly designs in its proposals.
The developer hopes to break ground in 2025, but the timeline depends on how quickly the council moves through the approval process. If all goes smoothly, the first residents could move in by late 2026.
