The July 2026 edition of the Portland Food Map restaurant real estate listings is now available, offering a fresh look at available commercial spaces across the city and its outskirts. This month's collection highlights a steady demand for turnkey dining locations, with several former eateries hitting the market after recent closures.
Among the notable listings is a fully equipped 2,500-square-foot space on Congress Street, previously home to a popular brunch spot. The asking lease rate reflects the ongoing competition for prime downtown real estate. Further out, a former pizzeria in the West End is available for purchase, complete with a wood-fired oven and a 40-seat dining room.
Industry observers note that while rents have stabilized compared to the spike seen in early 2025, landlords are still holding firm on terms for properties with existing liquor licenses. A handful of spaces in the Old Port are listed as "shell only," targeting chefs who want to build from scratch.
The surrounding towns are also seeing activity. A former bakery in South Portland is being marketed as a conversion opportunity, and a closed diner in Falmouth is listed with an option to lease the attached apartment. For restaurateurs looking to expand or relocate, this month's crop offers a mix of high-traffic storefronts and quieter neighborhood spots.
