Katherine Heigl is parting ways with the mountain retreat she built from the ground up. The former "Grey's Anatomy" star has listed her custom Utah mansion for $10.6 million, marking the end of an era that began when she traded Los Angeles for a quieter life in the mountains.
Heigl moved to Utah in 2012, four years after she and her husband, musician Josh Kelley, finished building the extraordinary six-bedroom estate. The property sits on 12 acres in a gated community near Park City, offering the kind of privacy that the actress said she craved after years in the Hollywood spotlight.
The home spans over 10,000 square feet and was designed with a rustic yet modern feel. It features floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the surrounding peaks, a gourmet kitchen, a home theater, and a spa-like master suite. Outside, the grounds include a heated pool, a hot tub, and multiple patios for entertaining against the backdrop of the Wasatch Range.
The listing comes as Heigl and Kelley appear to be shifting their focus. The couple, who have three children, have been spending more time in other properties, including a home in Nashville. Heigl has also returned to acting in recent years, with roles in series like "Firefly Lane" and "Suits."
For Heigl, the Utah property was more than a house. It was a deliberate escape from the pressures of fame. She has spoken openly about feeling out of place in Los Angeles and wanting a more grounded environment for her family. Now, after 14 years of mountain living, she is ready to let someone else enjoy the peace and quiet.
