A Las Vegas real estate agent has completely abandoned traditional lead generation methods, reporting that social media now accounts for every single client in her pipeline. The agent, who declined to give her full name for privacy reasons, said the shift happened gradually over the past three years. She now relies entirely on platforms like Instagram and TikTok to find buyers and sellers.
One video posted on TikTok, which racked up over 320,000 views, directly led to five closed transactions. The clip featured a walkthrough of a mid-century home in the suburbs. Within weeks, the agent had multiple offers from viewers who had never contacted a realtor before. She says the key is consistency and authenticity, not polished production.
The agent estimates she spends about two hours a day filming, editing, and responding to comments. She has stopped paying for Zillow leads, direct mail, or open house flyers. "It used to be 50-50 between referrals and online," she said. "Now it is 100 percent social. I do not even carry business cards anymore."
Critics warn that relying solely on social media is risky because algorithm changes can kill visibility overnight. But the agent argues that building a personal brand creates a buffer. "If one platform dies, I move to the next. The people follow me, not the platform," she said.
Her experience reflects a broader trend in the housing industry, where younger buyers and sellers increasingly turn to social media for home listings and agent recommendations. For now, the strategy is working. She closed 12 deals last quarter, all from social media.
