As the school year progresses, a group of sixth-graders recently wrapped up a career unit that sparked their imaginations about the future. We had the opportunity to speak with three of these young students, who shared their aspirations and how the unit has influenced their career choices.
One student expressed a keen interest in becoming a real estate agent, inspired by the idea of helping families find their dream homes. She mentioned that learning about different professions allowed her to see the impact real estate can have on people's lives.
Another student dreams of becoming an archaeologist. He shared his fascination with ancient civilizations and the stories behind historical artifacts. The career unit provided him with insights into how archaeologists uncover the past, fueling his passion for history.
Lastly, a future civil engineer discussed his desire to design and build infrastructure that improves communities. He highlighted how the unit helped him understand the importance of engineering in daily life, motivating him to pursue this path.
Overall, the career unit has opened doors for these students, helping them envision their futures with clarity and excitement.
