A century-old residence in Houston's historic Courtlandt Place neighborhood claimed the top spot in the city's luxury home sales for the week of July 19. The property, originally designed by architect Carlos Schoepp and built in 1925, sold for between $4.4 million and $5.1 million, according to recent deed records.
The home spans more than 7,000 square feet and sits on a large lot within the private, gated enclave. Courtlandt Place is known for its early 20th century architecture and tree-lined streets, and this particular house retains many original details, including high ceilings, hardwood floors, and period-specific millwork. The sale marks one of the higher price points seen in the neighborhood in recent years.
Other notable transactions during the same week included a modern build in the Memorial area and a renovated property in River Oaks, but neither approached the Courtlandt Place figure. Real estate agents noted that homes with historic designation and architectural significance continue to attract buyers willing to pay a premium for character and location.
The buyer and seller were not publicly identified. The sale was finalized midweek, and the property is now off the market. Courtlandt Place remains one of Houston's most sought-after addresses for those seeking older homes with preserved charm.
